Psycholinguistics Class – Assignment 2

In our class, we have learned so far about how Children Construct Grammar. As what the book we use provides, we know that the concept of language acquisition involves the understanding of the Innateness Hypothesis, Stages in Language Acquisition, and the Perception and Production of Speech Sounds. Children for the most part create their own grammar by listening to all utterances in their life.

In this assignment, what you need to do is to post what you have learned so far about a child’s language or children’s language around you. Their language might be Minangkabau or Indonesia. What we need to remember is that the children create sounds that we could hear. You may write the sound in the comment session below.

Remember, you can comment once only. Please avoid commenting too many times, as I will only select your last comment. We will discuss your assignment in the class along the line with discussing about The Development of Grammar in overall view before we come to each part of the topic.

    Sikerei (Shaman)
    Sikerei is a shaman for Mentawai Society in the dephts of Mentawai Island Regency located in the west coast of sumatera in Indonesia. Sikerei is above 45 years old, it has become attraction for foreign people would like to visit indigeneus of mentawai. The sikerei is a honorable person in a village and the most visited by foreigners especially on tattoo. Tattoo on the body of sikerei has level within it process of making, it will take 2 hours, tattooer will tattoo shoulder of sikerei and another tattoo be made on the sikerei thigh.
    The Sikerei has 3 kinds of attribute who can be used. Small bell made from brass, colorful, and has weight 5 ons, besides long bag who has length is 1 metre used by sikerei to keep their luggage, and the highest attribute is necklace who has twist 8 times on his neck.
    Sikerei of Mentawai has own season which foreign people mostly talk about sikerei as shaman when they trekking in Mentawai, they call themselves Zigo, zigo is a group who consisted 17 teenagers and every single one of them is anthrpology major. On august there are 15 goups zigo are visiting Mentawai.
    Sikerei has become the most prominent objective by foreigners, especially in process of making film documentary about Mentawai Culture.

    MY BEST FRIENDS
    When i was in vocational high school, i had three best friends name were Yolla, Febrian, gusti. We always did anything together, studied english, eat, and the last one distrupt our junior class.
    The first my best friend Yolla, she was beautiful and smart girl, she can speak english very well, she liked to study english but she didn’t like mathemathic because she didn’t understand about it. She has big eyes,and she has body fat, she tall about 150 cm, she has pointed nose and oval face. She always told me she didn’t like her skin because she has black skin.
    The second Febrian, he is stylist and handsome man, he can speak english very well but he hated to study mathematic, he has black eyes, he tall about 167 cm, he is good boy because he always help me when i confused study english. He has black skin and when he smile i can see white tooth and thin mustache, he has straight black hair and pointed nose, he always showed to me about trend in the world.
    The last one Gusti, she is a unique girl because she didn’t like all subject except study cooking, she can be cooking very well, she know all method of cooking. She has white skin and wearing glasses, she tall about 157 cm and when she smile i can see her dimples and she has flat nose and oval face. Gusti was chatty girl because i must heard her story about her boyfriend. But if I or Febrian confused about the method cooking she was helping us.

Family a group experience of love and support for me. My parents love me so much. My heigh is 150 cm, I have skin white,flat nose and I have long hair. I not perfect because nobody’s perfect in this world. My hoby is reading,listening to music and watching tv. I sit to read while it is time for reading and go to play while it is time for playing.     According to the research I have done Developments spoke in children starts at age 1 year with utter one word, for example, the word pa and ma. if to speak, for example parents made her chickens saying only express through movement of a finger. If the parents say the word cat she just say “meow”.
    At age 18. The child has a vocabulary of about 20, and developed into 50 or more vocabulary when it was 2 years old. At the age of 2 years, children also start learning combines two simple words. They began to follow two orders at once, for example, “take the cake and please give toplesna, here is already a lot of clever students combine but there are also children are able to merge some sentences but are still upside down. And he often incorrect mention of colors, for example red spelled out the color yellow. blue spelled out in green.
    Their vocabulary increased sharply. Routinely, they also began to combine three or more words into one sentence.     Erna is very outgoing.she is always friendly and loves to have fun.she has a fantastic sence of humour and she always makes me laugh .however,he can be a bit immature at times, for example,when she doesn’t get what she wants,he acts childishly and stamps his feet.

    THE FIRST WORD FROM BABY
    I have a nephew his name is Syahid. He is two years old now. The first word that he said is “yaya” it’s mean ayah or dady. It’s when he was .He can not say yayah or ayah. Then he said “ma” that’s means mom. His mother want he to call her by bunda but he can’t. She never told he to call mama. So why did her son called her with mama? may be he listen to she when she call her mother by mama.
    The next word that he said is “mam” it’s means eat. When he was he never cry anymore when he wanted to eat but he can say mam then his mother will gave he some rice or biscuits. And then he can say “ne” which means sister it because he always play or stay with his sister fourth years old. His mother told him to call his sister with “one”.
    He is to closed with his father, so when his father want to go out he always want to go too. When he was not able to speak he just crying and look to his father but when he is able to speak he said “ai” which means pai or go. Then he can say “ka” to the other my nephew. Then he call “bubu” to my mother. After five month finally he can say “nda” to her mother. It because his mother always told him to call bunda and sometime she will not answer when he call mama.
    My name is the most difficult name may be in his live. Because I am rarely at home I just back home once a month so he never right in saying my name my family want he to call me “uncu” but until this time he just call me “cu” sometime he call me kak.

    Based on the interview with Ita, Zaila’s mother. There is so many information that I can get about Zaila’s progress. Zaila is three years old. She is a daughter from three children and she is the last child. When Zaila was one year old, the first language that she can say is “tha” and then she can say “mha” and to call her father she said “ah” she can say three words except ”dada” and “mama” and “yah”. Zaila can understand a request or instruction to do something. When Zaila was 13-14 month she began to bable much and can saying six words like “atak, ambik iya num, pek tak”. Zaila leaning to say “L” with “Y”. Example, when she say her name (ila) but she said “iya” and word “pulang” become “tuyang”. In this age Zaila can understand our expression (anger, sad or anything).
    When Zaila was 16 month, she prefer to asking about something like “ a tu ?” or “a tu ma?” . when Zaila was 17-19 month, she can say many words. Zaila leaning to talk to her self. When she was playing with her doll, she talked with doll like asking the doll to eat or to sleep although there is some words that not clear when she say that. when Zaila was two years old, she knew about name of people that familiar or often through the days with her, she knew the part of body like nose, mouth, ear, stomach and so on. She can doing simple conversation, by using 2 until 4 words. Beside that she can count until 10. And repeat the word in conversation or imitate the word that her mother said when they are interacting.
    Now, when Zaila is three years old, she can speak good enough and easy to understood by the people who talking with her. She can interact and use true language structure with short sentence. At least when we ask her about something like her family or her activity, she can answer that. Zaila also can say familiar words like, her name, parents name, sister’s and brother’s name or friends name and can say true word like “L” she has said that true. Now she said “pulang” with “pulang” not “tuyang ” again. She can say many words like school, field, work and so on. Zaila also begin to submit more question and more detail about something. And she can tell her mother about the day that she through with her friend and can tell that her friend is kind or cruel to her. She can say slang word like ”eeeeeee kan iko lo” and she can imitate the adult style when she speak like”eee ama kiroe ma, kecek awak sia tadi” and “baa akak kooooo” and still many words that Zaila can speak. And something that make her parents is surprised when she treats her father become a baby then said”anak oliv bobok ly, teteh pail ly yooo” (while wipe her father’s head). So Zaila can imitate the adult style when she speaks with us.

    Based on my interview. First I will introduce my client, the children named Hafiz, he is 3 years old and his mom named Rini. According to the interview that I have done with mrs.Rini, I give her some questions talks about her children “Hafiz”, and these are the conclusions of my intgerview. Hafiz uses minang language during talking with his parent or people arround him, although his mother tries to teach him to speak indonesia but Hafiz never learn to use it and back to use minang language.
    And then, words that sound out from Hafiz just word by word for example “ama, apa, num(minum), men(permen) and etc” hafiz just said like that if he want to speak with other. Sometimes his mother said “when hafiz want to playing games in smartphone, he always says in cek bg” its means main ciek bg in minang language.
    The improvement from Hafiz is a good proccess in his age. He shows to everyone that he want to join with his family, talks with his mother that he want to play or do something else although word by word. I am as Hafiz’s neighboor too, look his growth when he come to my house and while Iam watching boboiboy ( a animasi film from Malaysia about little superhero) hafiz looks interest with that film and talks to me kak e bg “cakak e bg = in minang language”. It is show to us that Hafiz has a good response while he is watching.
    In short. The development of children can fluenced by their parents and the environment. If the parents teach them by using minang or indonesian language they will learn fastly. in the other side. If the parents have teach them minang or indonesian language but the children still use the first language (e.g Minang lg) its called “mother tounge” furthermore the environment of the children use minang also so that fluenced the children to use minang language.

    Humans interact with one another through communication in the form of language. Communication occurs verbally and non-verbally such as writing, reading and symbol. Humans communicate through language requires a process that develops in stages age. How can humans use language as a way to communicate has always been an interesting question to be discussed so that raises a lot of theories about language acquisition. Language is a symbol of something idea or a thought that it wanted to communicate the message sender and received by the recipient via a specific code, both verbally and nonverbally. Language children use to communicate and adapt to its environment committed to exchange ideas, thoughts and emotions. Language can be expressed through speech referring to the verbal symbols.I have interviewed a 33 years old mother named Erlianis having a 4 years old child named Nilma Febrianti. From this activity I got many informations about Nilma’s development in producing language from newborn until she was 4 years old.
    At the age of new born baby will produce sound of crying baby who is still a reflex sound. So, the baby was not crying because she wanted to cry, but it was done without knowing it. It happened naturally. When the baby is hungry or uncomfortable, she would pull the sound of crying. Unlike before, the cry has been issued can be distinguished according to the wishes or feelings of the baby. At the age 10 months baby began to utter words such as: ma.. la… mm.. aa..aa
    At the age of 1 year until 2 years , the baby began to imitate the voices heard from the environment, the baby began to speak a few words but the pronounciation is not perfect as adults. And also use facial expressions or hand gestures when they want to ask for something. This age is the first time for Nilma in producing her language. Because Nilma is Minang, Mrs Erlianis told me that Nilma’s first word is’Mak’ which is mean mother. Then with her mother’s help Nilma taught to pronounce ‘ayah’, sometimes she produce ‘yah’ which is mean father. Both of these words is Nilma’s first word. Another example when Nilma want to eat she will say mamam..mam.mamam, She will say ‘cucu’ and ‘nam’ if she is thirsty and want to drink. Nilma will cry and show her hand gesture when she do piss, If she feel hot and cold she will do the same thing,crying. When Nilma’s elder brother and sister disturb her, she will also cry and move her hand up and down may be she want to beat them.
    At the age of 3 years, Nilma was able in producing language, she can produce any words people teach her but still have a little bit mistakes in utterances. Usually it is difficult for her to pronounce a word with letter ‘r’. For example she says ‘elel’ for ‘eler(rice milling)’ and ‘bulung’ for burung(bird). But this mistake will not found when She was 4 years old, She has no problem with language anymore just matter in choicing vocabulary and constructing good grammar.

  13. Language acquisition by children is the most amazing human accomplishment. How it acquired language, has been studied for a long time by experts. Somehow the children speak, understand what is said, untill can be used the language by itself. But until now there are still very few things that can be known about the actual process of language development.

    The process of language acquisition is different from language learning. Language acquisition is the first language or mother tongue, while learning the language associated with the process that occurs when a person learns a second language and so on. Accordingly, when assessing how to proceed in the language of a child, certainly more appropriate to use the term acquisition.

    Language acquisition that was first obtained by a child is going from the surrounding environment, especially coming from people who care for children example: their parents.Childrens have always spoken to by their parents. That is happened two-way communication between the child and his parents. The parents tried to respond to each baby’s reaction and act as though the baby’s reaction is no meaning and need to be addressed.

    I have observed about children’s language acquisition, is going from the surrounding environment, I have a brother he is 10 years old, his name is Hamdan. When he can already say the word one by one ( arround 1 age) who first taught by my mother is how to say “Ibu” and “Ayah”. When My mothers say Ayah by pointing my father (As obbject) then
    Hamdan mentioned it to pronounce it like “-yahh”. Then when Hamdan want his toy like a car or ball he will say “-too” for oto and “laa-laa” for ball (In minang language oto is car) because he cannot say the word completely. However that, Hamdan try to imitate my mother.
    I mean, because mothers are the ones who always stand beside the childrens since their were a child. And when that happens the process of language acquisition as if the mother considers the child to understand what he was saying and and try to respond to every reaction of the child so that the process of language acquisition continues until the child can use the native language correctly. So, parents or peoples caring for the child has an important role for language acquisition of children’s language developing.

Language acquisition usually distinguished by language learning . Learning the language associated with the processes that occur when a child learning a second language after she gained her first language . The first language a child a mother said her child aged 2 years and 4 months is early first he does is cry, and then in the new phase of 6 months can say ” mam ” said his mother was baby for food . But with the environmental conditions as well as their families were crowded , her brother is 4, there are grandparents who lived in the house as well . In the age of 1 year can already say ” afif ” is the first sister , where her sisters else calls aloud as ” afif “. The habit of an infant or child at age 5 years and under are very sensitive or easy to mimic the surrounding environment. Moreover, the word or words very loud . According to a mother who ever I have corresponded to say “is not easy to teach the word or words to a baby and it takes time and patience and I have experienced in five children “.
    At this stage of 18-20 month old son . Utterances made up of two words began to appear like mama and papa mam participate . If at this stage of the spoken utterance holofrastis the child is not necessarily contained meaning, at this stage of these two words , utterances child should be interpreted according to the context. At this stage, children also have started thinking ” subject + predicate ” although relations such as inflection , plural personal pronoun and can not be used . In the mind of the child, subject + predicate can consist of a noun + noun , like ” Ani toy” which means ” Ani was playing with a toy ” or adjective + noun , like “dirty shoes “, which means ” These shoes are dirty ” etc. According to the experience of the baby’s mother.
    On stage conclusion pronunciation in use a baby between the ages of 1 to 5 years less than many mimic , but in the words he was saying sometimes not necessarily in accordance meaning we know. This means that the baby is only imitating what other people with what is done so that the baby can imitate by doing what he says . Stages pronunciation of words a baby produces more than what he used to hear in their environment . For example, just a baby that I have observed and I invited talk , he knows what we say , then he answered in a language that is not clear , but its significance or meaning we can know.

    I have a sister, her name chaca. Now, she is 3 years. She is very cute, smart, coquettish and her speak like adults in generally or very choosy. She likes doll, especially doll who be related with princess, she is very love her.
    moreover, she is love play cooking with her friend. She have game supplies a complete kitchen. But, sometimes she likes mischievous to her friend with want not borrowed her games, until cry her friend . But, after that she as though not wrong and invited her friend play back.
    when, her mother called to eat, she said ” mmm ” and she run away. She is lazy the eat and she likes play with friend. then, her mother said ” chaca makan lae” ,, she said ” a..zha .. luun..appaah..” she is spelling a..zha not chaca. She not yet can talking too much. She just spelling two , three , four and five words. She is very funny, when eating while romp with her mother. While his mother was overwhelmed bribe romp, he just burst out laughing happily. I like it very much. i miss you so much chaca. Cuter he was smallish solid, so I like pinched her. Sometimes, i always her make cry because doll’s , i take. She said “ iii later a…zha.. told the same mmaaa,, ii is bad, and kick at the same time mmmaa… she is very funny at the time called me “ iii” and babble same her mother. She can’t called me sri but she spelling iii..

    yesterday i interviewed my neighbour (Dinda) she has a cute daughter her nick name is Icha, same as me, icha’s age is 3 years old. for the first question i asked Dinda about the first word that her daughter say, and Dinda say that word is “mma.. mma.. mma” then i told Dinda that i think that is not a word, but that is just a sound which have no meaning. but Dinda said that that is a word, her daughter meant to say “Mama” but she can’t say it well. So i asked Dinda again “how can her daughter can say “mama” well now, she said that she and her family guide her daughter to say “Mama” as well as they can. then my second question is “is her daughter use a good gramatical when she say a sentence for the first time?”, she said “No, her daughter just use main word of that sentence, for example: ‘Mama Mamam’ or ‘Mama tuwe tuwe'” but now her daugter an say a better sentences than that, for example “Mama mamam” become “Ma Icha nio mamam” or “Mama tuwe tuwe” become “Mama icha nio kue”. and the last time that is asked is “how Dinda teach her daughter to use the good gramatical in her sentences?” Dinda said that she never teach her daughter about using a good gramatical.
    from this case i can conclude that Dinda’s daughter learn language through Dinda’s guidance and listening.. for case of “mma..mma..mma” Dinda’s daughter learn through her guidance, and the case of grammatical use, Dinda’s daughter learn through listening, she imitate the talking style of the people around her

  17. A mother teaches her child to speak is by way of showing objects that are nearby, such as when a child wants to drink and he said to his mother if she wanted a drink. Then the mother should be showing the object is to fetch him a glass of water with, and the mother must present the cup and said “want to drink” so the child will be easier to understand and be familiar with what was said by his mother.
    A child also likes listening to his parents talk, and the expression of his parents when communicating. A mother must often encourage children to talk so kids are mastering new vocabulary and put the correct sentence, and also often invite children to talk something they liked. a child not only learn from their parents, but also sailed a child from his peers. Because of the way they walk, talk, and play it well they could get from other children. When children want to play with her mother taught her how to interact with friends is a way to invite friends to play with the children an example of his “let’s play”.
    In teaching children to speak could use flash card, flash card using the vocabulary of children will increase. Flash cards can also be used for reading images on a flash card as daily activities and structured, and after it was told to ask the children imitating the mother while showing pictures on the flash card. After the child is able to name the objects in the image on the flash card, then ask himself who mentioned it. While children are still happy to do and children do not like being forced to do what they do not like, the mother also should pay attention to what she does not like and what she likes.

    I was interviewed a mother, her name is Tia. The mother 29 yeras old and she as a seller at the car’s sell. She have a child, her name is Aqila. Aqila 4 years old. She has a wavyhair, and has dark sweet skin.Qila is clever child, why I said like that because she very active to play, speak, and have style for her dress and style of her hair. Maybe for her age impossible to have style of dress and hair, but her mother support it.
    When I ask her mother (Tia) about the develop of language her child from 1 year until 4 years old, she talked when to me about Aqila 1,5 years old, she just said nda (bunda) to call her motherandif she call her father she said pa (papa) that is very natural for the child has age like 1.5 years, and if she want eat she said mik (mimik) and as a mother Tia understand what is her child want. And then when she 2 years old, Aqila understand if someone ask for example “ where is your father ?“ she understand but she can’t replay clearly to answer the question, she usually answer like eja (kerja).
    The next level is when Aqila 3 years old,her mother said to me she can say everything she was heard. Everything someone say to her, she usually follow that sentences, although she don’t understand about the sentence. Tia’s said as a mother we must to control and to take care our child, because we have neighbour that has different style to speaks sometimes they speak do not good to hear, and maybe our child follow and act the sentence that has she heard. And her mother said to me when she 3 years old, she was very happy to speak, and always ask about everything the mother said and done. For example when the mother invite Aqila go to the some place. She always ask “ where were we go ma ?” and when she saw things, she said what is it? And as a mother, she always answer and explain to her child what the child want to know.
    And then for 4 years old, Aqila can speak clearly and has argument if she speak with someone, like her mother invite to lunch together, she want eat the food by the choose herself. And she said to her mother she like the food. And then when her mother do something, Aqila always want to go along what her mother do. She usually said I want to do that.

    I have interviewed my nephew, his name is Asrafy Naufal Hanif Mulyadi, everyone call him asraf but after he could speak, he called his name is Acap. He is 3 years old right now, he has weight 23kg. He is really nice, cute and funny. His mother tell me that ‘Ya’ is the first word that he could said, ‘Ya’ did not mean yes in our language but it refers to father. The second word that he could called ‘mi’, it because he always listened my young sister and young brother called my mom by Mami. Children listen to what is said around them and imitate the speech they hear. Asraf could speak step by step, first he just can say Ya, Mi, Da and Ko. After that, Ya be Yah, Mi be Ami, Da be Nda, Ko be Koko. Yah means his father, Ami is my mother, Nda is his mother, Ko is my young brother.

    He is so funny and clever, if we got angry to him, he would not cry like the others child but he would huge us and make us don’t angry anymore to him, such as on Thursday, April 07, 2016, I expressly to get angry to him and he said to me “kakak antik, acap au peyuk kakak oyeh?” it means “beauty sister, may I huge you?” because I listened it, I never want to be angry. The others example: “kakak antik acap, au ue” it means “sister, I want to get a cake” and after I give it, he will say thank you and love you, “acih kakak antik, acap sayanggg kakak”. My mother always teach him, after get something, should say thank you and say sorry after make a mistake, but there is no one teach him to say love you if get something, it is the language that he has construct by himself. Now, he can construct the language by himself based on what he listened.

    Children are amazing. My nephew can speak learn through imitation and he construct grammars.

If we say language, not only human can say language is needed but animal also needed language to have communication to solve their problem. And of course they have language that can understand of them each other just like human. Human being used language to communications each other. Human being have growth for time to time, In the same way, of human growth not only by physically but also in language acquisition. Human growth is the greatest thing to talk about, it is not simple thing that can we say anything what we want. When the human still in womb they have growth, and when the human have come in to being human they have several growth it is included physical growth, emotional growth and also growth of language acquisition. Talking about language that have human get by started from the birth basic skill that baby have is crying. And when the human still child they learn by the people that can listen and make the problem solved by listen around. Problem in this context I said that is how the baby can speak started from babbling, found word until can make a sentences. The first things that can baby do is crying and absolutely it is that can we say “fitrah manusia” and we can also said that crying is basic skill of the baby.
    According to brief interview to the parent that has a baby and my observation of my brother of 4th age, important thing or important point that I get is language acquisition influence by situation and condition of the world. It’s mean that when the human still a baby of 6th month and till 1st year they has babbling unknown word I say, if the baby want to do or the baby want. For example when the baby still 0-6 month the baby absolutely crying when hungry and their mother know that when the baby has crying something have happened to their baby like hungry, then the baby can babbling unknown word if the baby want something, when the baby can say unclearly word like ma…ma… if they have learn by listen around this phase usually happened when the baby in the first age and the baby usually can speak clearly and fluently.
    Why I said language acquisition have big influence by situation and condition it is because now as we know technology have develop time by time and haven’t stop yet and may be cannot stop. There are television that can upgrade information will we get starting from news, entertainment and other part. In this time the parent give their child the facility like television to make the baby have activity and can learn about the education programs that have show by television, from the program that have watched by child they have learn thing that they get for example they have get new word or something new that interesting by the children, my brother have 4th year this time have waste his time in front of television to watched their favorite program and he usually can imitate the language that have they learn in program that have his watched, in fact they can imitate the conversation in that program very clearly. Also, usually I have play Korean music that I like when kill the time with my brother and they have know the lyric and clear to say the lyric in his dialect to say. This reason that I can say language acquisition that have get by the children have influence by situation and condition. And then she started saying his “pa-pa” and the words next to it saying “mam-mam” when she wants to eat, and when he wanted to drink the child will say “num-num”. so the words that first come out of his mouth, sometimes the words were out of his mouth is hard to understand meaning

    Language acquisition in a child suddenly has a grammar in his brain and complete with all the rule. First language acquisition times she got from her mother and father as well as the environment keluagarnya. Languages often they hear from the mother or father as well as the environment kelurganya, that’s what it follow, although not perfect pronunciation. Therefore, in 0-5 years usi we do not say bad words or do bad things because it will quickly once it was possible to follow and remember it until he was an adult.

    I have a 17th month nephew. His name is Adli Hanan Wahyuda, we call him Hanan. Hanan mother’s is the younger sister of my mother. Hanan and his mom live in tabiang, West Sumatera. I often went there at the weekend. Hanan is an active boy. He loves to play with his toys, such as ball and car, and he calls the car by “buum.” or “buum nan”.
    Before he can use words (even a half of the word) of things that he wants, he only can cry or “meracau” to express what in his mind is. In his age, now, there are several words that he understands very much (because he heard it for many times, may be). For example: “ndah” (bunda in Indonesia, and mother in English), “yah” (for ayah in Indonesia, and father in English), “nek” (grandmother), tuk” (grandfather), “kak” (sister), “ya ya” (to express something that he is agree with), and “duik” (hiduik in minang, turn on in English). For the last word, it made me confuse when the first time I hear it. I don’t understand till at the last my aunt said that it means Hanan wants to turn on the fan. After that, everywhere Hanan sees a fan he always says “duik”, and he comes to the fan and feel the air.
    From the explanation above, I can see that a child acquires his first language from his environment (parents and people around him). because Hanan life in minangkabau family that use minang language in their daily life, so minang becomes Hanan’s first language. It can be seen from Hanan uses “duik” to say “hiduik” (in minang language), and he doesn’t use “hidup” (in Indonesian language). It is because he just acquires and imitates what he heard.
    All of language that he heard, he safes in his memory, and he tries to use it by imitate what he heard even at the first time it doesn’t match with what he has saved and constructed in their mind. When hanan was crying for something that people around him didn’t understand, actually he has used a language that we don’t understand because it doesn’t match with what Hanan has constructed in his mind.

    Language acquisition for the baby is one of important aspect for the develop of his language and his parents must be attention the develop or the language acquisition of baby because it will give effect when he is adult. Language acquisition do step by step, since he was baby until he can speak and arrange the structure correctly. The language acquisition can be divided into two periods, these are prelinguistic (0-1 year) which is the prelinguistic the baby can not to speak he only give sign if he want something and if he speak, he will sound out but it is not clear. And then linguistics, in linguistic the baby begin to speak and say one or two words.
    The example of language acquisition for the baby. I Have my little brother, his name Muhammad fajar kamil. He school in SIAB kindergarten, he is five years old. Since he was born in the world, i know how development his language, and then I have been interview to my mother too about it. When he was one month, he could not to speak, he only could to cry and laugh. He would cry if he want to drink ASI or if he defecate and he would laugh if his family amuse him. Then when he was two months, he like to listening music. He would sleep if the music give to him and if the music off, he would cry. After that when he was about six or seven months, he begin to babbling such as he said “Ma, Pa, Mok, Mam. He often to said “Ma” than “Pa”. If he want to drink ASI, he will said “Mok” actually his mother said “Mimik” or “Susu”.
    After that when he was 1,5 years old, he could to arrange the sentence about one, two words such as “ Ma, anjo” the meaning of this words are “Ma, Pergi belanja atau mengajak mamanya pergi jajan”. Then if he want buy to something, he could choose what he want to buy such as “ Nyum, Yia (Air), We (Kue), ulo (Permen) if he not something, he would refuse with said “ Nak (Tidak)” . He can also different the name or call his brother and sister. He call his older sister “Tatak”, and his brother with said “Ban (Abang)”. Then when go or leave someone, he could say “ Dada”. When two years old, he knew which camera, he would smile and style if his family take his picture. He also knew about “monyong” style, if his sister ask him to monyong style, so he would give this style. And then in three years old, he could arrange the sentence such as “Ambo ain kak di MIN (Saya pergi main di Min Kak). He also could sing “Cicak-cicak di dinding”, his sister teach him about it and he would sing “Icak-icak dingdingding, atang teetor amuk”. He like to imitate the new something that source from television or his brother. When ceremony independence day in television, he watch it and he imitate what their said and their mimic such as “ Siaaaap Grak” he would stand up, “jalan di tempaat grak” he also would run. He also imitate adzan from television and imitate his brother when the read holy qur’an. Now he is five years old, he can speak fluently, reading, writing, and dancing.
    Based on the observation above, it can be concluded that the develop or the language acquisition for the child have been begin since 0 months, but he only sound out if he want something. He begin to speak based on what he hear from his family, although he can not to speak but he understand what the adult say. The child will faster receive and speak if his family always interaction and let him to communication, if the family seldom to interaction with their child so the child will not more words or vocabulary. Sometimes the word that family teach him unsuitable based on what he said or think, example his mother said “Mimik”, but he say “Mok. The environment, television, and video also big effect to language acquisition the child, because the child will imitate what he see and hear from television example he imitate adzan from TV, and sing a song when he watch. So the parents must be attention language acquisition of child, because not all the words good for the develop of language the child. His first language is minang language, and the second is Indonesian language. His progress on language is really good. It is evidenced when he was 1 year old, he just could say mama with “aa”, but now he have already said mama in a better pronunciation. The first word that he said is “aa” , it means that he is calling his mom. Actually he has had four steps of language acquisition on his progress. Why do I say so, it is because he always tries to speak what people are speaking around him. When he hears azan in musholla, he tries to imitate it by saying something that he want to say such as abal-abal, it means akbar. And this happened when he was 1,5 years old. But now he already can say akbar.
    And then, when his mother tries to reinforce his pronunciation he tries to imitate it. such as when he said mamam it means makan, miss weni said it makan, and his boy say makan too. Talking about making a sentence, he have already can say a sentence such as “amad nio bobok, ma” it means that he can use good grammatical. Miss Weni also use motherese technique when he speak to his boy. She tends to speak more slowly and more clearly, she tells me that we don’t have to speak loudly to a child because his ears on progress and they usually do not like if someone speaks louder to them because they will cry and belief that we are angry to them.
    It can be concluded that a child has a progress on his language acquisition appropriate with his age, a child 1 years old is different with a child 2 years old. More increase their age it will increase their knowledge too on acquire the language.     I’ve interviewed my aunt, her name dewi sartika she has a son named Randi prasetya, now he was about 2 years old. Randi including an active child, when the newborn he is already showing signs such as smiling and crying, when he was crying as he put his hand to his mouth indicates that she was hungry. Once upon a time her mother heard her son crying, the mother thought that her son was crying kare hungry but when her son was given to drink milk instead refused, it indicates that he was not hungry. His mother was confused about what to do because they do not know what caused the child to cry, and her mother still guessing the cause of crying babies, for the untrained ear all the cries sound the same. Yet studies have shown that babies cry producing different depending on whether he is hungry, uncomfortable, in pain, tired or bored. After the mother observing his body turned out there were ants were biting his on the back, so that’s what caused he to cry. His mother also said, if the usually sleepy Randi him out the word ‘owh “while establishing a mouth like the letter O, and she began to move restlessly and rubbed his eyes and began to squirm, it signifies that he was sleepy.
    At the age of 12-14 months, babies begin to recognize its environment, both the physical environment and social environment.     Children as created by Allah SWT have been steps in get the language. This is constitute a unique that will happen to human in the world. That unique started from children, they through several steps in growing the language from 1 until 5 ages, it is happen naturally that felt by everybody in the world. Ema is a mother and she has a children her age about 5 years old, so she understand about the her children growing in language so they give explanation about the steps of their children.
    The first step, at the children have 6 month until 1 year ages, the children start to express their language but they use gesture, mimic, and they will cry to show what they want. They start to speak without there are not meaning, if they feel hungry, they just use mimic in their face with cry so the mother will understand what is they asking .
    The second steps, children have 1 until 2 years they have able to speak but they do not speak clearly like the children want eat they will ask to their mother by saying “mamam” so the parents have know what is the mean of their language. At this steps the children start to ask anything to their mother but they use not complete sentence at speaking they just ask what they see without understand about grammar. they have know what are their around environment. They have know nouns that their environment after that they will recognize verb, it has been arranged.
    The third steps, children have 2 until 5 years, they have able to speak with clearly, they have able to distinguist any kinds of language and use it, children can do communication with people in environment with fluency.     Yesterday I called my sister to ask about my psycholinguistics task, she has a son his name is Danil Pernando, he was born on march 23rd 2010 he is a fat boy, he is a kindergarten student and he is a smart student, he is so talk active and he is a student who can understand what the others say quickly. But he sometimes becomes a lazy student because he study based on his mood.
    When his teacher asks him to speak in front of the class he will be so excited. And he will tells us about her mother because he loves her so much, he says that “danil sayang bunda” and his teacher asks him to pray do’a before eating he will always misspelling a part of word it is “Allahumma bariklakana” the right one is “Allahumma bariklana” he will nodding but he never changes that word in other time.
    When I called him by phone he will tell me that his mother got angry with him, but actually it is happened long time ago. But he always remember that and he said that “Bunda jaek, uda nyo cubik e” and I will tell him that “ Daniel jan malawan ka bunda, beko badoso” he answers “iyo bu”(he calls me that way) but in other time he will tells that again, and I always still advice him.

    Language as a communication tool is a means to convey the intent of the purposes of our discussion, Language as a communication tool acquired by human from birth until the age of five, known as the acquisition of mature language. People always be happy view of language development that occurs in children. Although fully born without language, by the time they are 3 or 4 years, children in particular has gained a lot of vocabulary, sound system and grammar complex, and complex rules are the same for how to use their language appropriately in many social settings.
    The fulfillment of this occurs in every know society, and nearly all children, regardless of how they were raised a normal person would acquire the mother tongue or mother talk in a short time. This is not because children receive stimulation alone, then the child holding the response, but because every child who birth been equipped with a set of tools that acquire their mother tongue. This tool is called the Language Acquisition, age 0-1 years were marked with the infant’s ability to baby which is the way the baby to communicate with parents.
    At this stage, the parents give the external command that they responded passively by infants. But the baby has been able to give a different response to commands given, as the baby will cry when hungry, the baby laughed when she heard the sound of clapping hands, and crying babies if there is pain around his body. Children aged 1-1.5 years.
    In this stage was marked with the child’s ability to make sentences in the form of one word or two words when children begin to communicate with people around him at this stage will start trying the word that has been heard, either in the form of the word, the next stage the child can give the two words to communicate, then the child can say three words and sentences it would be better composed than ever that we hear.     I interviewed a young child was 3 years old. Her name is Reihandy Alvino, but often called him Vino. He is my cousin. He was the first child of my sister. Her mother named Vipi. He is very funny and smart. From childhood until now, when I didn’t go to school we always played together. He called me as “Ami”. I really know what she likes and what she does not like. He loved singing and watching movies. He was very scared cat.
    At he is 1 year old, the first language he could say that “ma” or “pa” when he wanted to ask something or feel the pain she could only cry because he could not speak fluently. But when he was hungry he’ll say “ma mam”, and his parents must have understood what is desired by his son.
    And when he was 2 years old, he could already said the new words. When we were playing, he saw my brother was eating a cake, and he said “mintak ciek” I was very surprised to hear him because he was able to say words like that, it turns out he often heard the word of others. It was then that he began to imitate and could pronounce every word he had heard from others.
    At that age, he was able to speak fluently. An example is “pai ka kos ami lai?”. His ability to speak not as a child his age. I am very proud to have a niece seems, because she is very smart and wise in speaking or others.

    I have young cousin her name is cia. She is four years old. When she was five month, she begun to speak but we did not know what she was saying. Her parents begun to taugh her speaking words like “mama”, “papa” when she was eight month. And she said “ma”, “pa”. When she wanted to feed she said “cu” “cu” “ma cu”. Her parents taught indonesia languages for her bur people around her home using minang language to communicate. It was influence her languages, because of that when speak or communicate she using mix language (minang and indonesia languages)
    .
    When she was two years old her parents gove her smartphone or android, in her smartphone have so many game and movie like upin-ipin, pada jaman dahulu, boboy, frozen, mr.bean and others. This smartphone influence her in speakig. She can speak malysian language without her learnt, it could be because her habit that is like to watch malysian’s cartoon movie. So in speaking cia use trhee language in similar time.

    In similar year cia and her parents move to her grandmother’s home. There her parents and grandmother accustom cia communicate in indonesia language. It inflence herself, cia did not use mix languge again, but just use one language (Indonesia language). Every Saturday she alway back to her home. In her home we speak with minang language for her and she can speak minang. When i ask with use minang language her answer in minang language and if i ask her in indonesia language, she also answer in indonesia languages. It is happend until now.

    The result of interview from a mother that has a boy child 2 years old.
    From the interview I have get some information about the child. His mother has said, when the baby nine mount, he begin to laugh and speak with people that near from him. The first, his mother speak about mama, and after that the child can speak mmma,,, when the child speak about that, it is the steps the child to imitate what the people speak around him. he will imitate everything that he hear.
    And after that his mother has said, her child can speak mama clearly when he one less year old, but he just speak mama clearly, not another word. Because the word mama always said in their house. And after that, when the child cry, his mother speak about apa mau “ makan”. His mother always repeat and repeat again about this word, and after that the child speak “ ma mam”. In another word he can speak about “ pa pa”.
    2 years old, the child can imitate about word minum “ um”, mandi “ ndi” and sometime he can speak “ mandi” clearly, and he can speak another word clearly accept words consonant. Because his tongue still stiff. And his mother has said again, her child can speak almost speak clearly when he two years old. When the child two years old, this period is the gold period to the children imitate everything that he hear and he saw around him, because he or she just to imitate from another people.
    From this information about the child grow, we can receive some grow from the children, don’t speak the duty word to the children because they can receive this word in their brain.

    I will report about how children’s language improvement since she say the first word until she can do communication. She is six years old right now. Her name is khaira, which she is second child from partner of Rika and Budi. They said that khaira say the first word at age of 18 months. The first word who she said like cu – cu, because khaira’s parents always said susu when khaira want it. Why khaira say cu – cu not susu when she was hungry, because she is processing language improvement. After that, she can also say mi and bi, because she call her parents are ummi and abi. We know that ability in language use as communication asset is innateness from human beings, and then it depends on environmental she lived how people do communication. So, the children generally will imitate at every people said and done.
    Next, khaira was 3 years old. She had many vocabulary in minang language, she could say pai, capek, kasiko, makan, etc. in fact, her parents use minang language as their first language (version of bukittinggi). In that time, she afforded for doing communication with many people, understanding what people said and giving response immediately, but khaira sometimes said something did not use grammar correctly, she often say incomplete sentences. Actually, it is not big problem because she still in process of language development. So, her first language is minang language.
    Then, khaira was 4-5 years old, she often visit her grandma in payakumbuh. In the first time, she felt difficult to do communication because it has a bit different language from minang language (version of Bukittinggi). Actually, It is still minang language, but that both languages have respective style. She was just silent because she did not understand yet what people said and what she will say or respond. In the long process, she tried understand and say something appropriate her friend said. At the end, she can use minang (payakumbuh) language well.
    Finally, khaira is 6 years old. She is coming to kindergarten. All her friends use Indonesian. It is khaira really must use Indonesian in the school. When her parents visit her in the school and pay attention how she did communication with her friends, in surprise she can use Indonesian really good.
    It can I conclude that khaira has master 3 languages, they are minang (bukittinggi version), minang (payakumbuh version), and Indonesian. It is so good language development for child who still six years old.

The first word is pronounced her “ma” when he was 16 months. at the age of 2 years he was able to say a few words, although not so clear and always pay attention to movement of the lips when someone spoke to her. , At the age of 2,6 months was able to say desire, such as when they want to ask for something, she has to use prefixes and suffixes, though not perfect as in katakana adults. For example, when said makan “mam” minum “num” mandi “ndi”. Since child faiqa taught to use Indonesian as their parents, but because the living environment of the use of language to make his minang often mix the two languages she spoke.
    At the age of five, children do tend to imitate the language she hears, so parents should be good at organizing and using proper grammar so as not programmed bad word said by a child. as an example when I spoke with my friend and say the word “preet” then faiqa emulate.     I interviewed a young child was 4 years old. Her name is Zee and she is my nephew. Her mother is a teacher, if her mother goes to school Zee is saved by my mother. I often play with her. She is smart and cute.
    At that time I was playing puzzle with her, and then I told her that I had another beautiful sister. I said: “ akak ado adik cantik, nio liek fotonyo?”, and then she said: “Indak nio do, Zee cantik lo nyo!” I laughed and said: “ yang iko cantik bana, caliak la” and she said: “indak cantik bana do, cantik Zee lagi.”
    I also asked to her mother: “What is first word that was acquisition by Zee?” her mother replied: “She was said Maa for the first time at 1 year old. If she want to eat, she said Maa, to Bathroom she said Maa. And whatever she said always Maa.” Her mother also said that Zee is a smart child.
    From that research I could take lessons that children will not like to lose. They always want to win. The children also will imitate themselves how we talk, when I mix between Indonesian language and minang, she will also be brought into the language. And one more thing I learned that children fear about anything, can not beat something they liked.

    Yesterday I called my sister to ask about my psycholinguistics task, she has a son his name is Danil Pernando, he was born on march 23rd 2010 he is a fat boy, he is a kindergarten student and he is a smart student, he is so talk active and he is a student who can understand what the others say quickly. But he sometimes becomes a lazy student because he study based on his mood.
    When his teacher asks him to speak in front of the class he will be so excited. And he will tells us about her mother because he loves her so much, he says that “danil sayang bunda” and his teacher asks him to pray do’a before eating he will always misspelling a part of word it is “Allahumma bariklakana” the right one is “Allahumma bariklana” he will nodding but he never changes that word in other time.
    When I called him by phone he will tell me that his mother got angry with him, but actually it is happened long time ago. But he always remember that and he said that “Bunda jaek, uda nyo cubik e” and I will tell him that “ Daniel jan malawan ka bunda, beko badoso” he answers “iyo bu”(he calls me that way) but in other time he will tells that again, and I always still advice him.

    I interviewed a child that was 3 years old. His name is Paris. He has big body for the children that age same with him. He is so funny and cute although he likes to make angry but I love him. His mother teach him to called her “bunda” but when he was about 1 year old he can said “mbu”, I think he can say that because a word that can understand with a child is “m” and the people around them think it is called to his mother. Every he said that his mother will said “Ya nak, ini ibu”. He begun to used that to called his mother.
    Now he lives beside an elementary school and have a restaurant. I believe with the statement that said, “A child is easy to influence”. One day when I playing in his place I try to observe him when he is playing with the students that rest around them. I’m worried when some of the student said “Jaek ang mah den ndak kawan jo ang do”, because I’m afraid if he will influence with the student said. After the students leave him then I called him, “Paris, mari lah” and he answer with the slow voice, “Ang jaek”. It’s make me surprised and believe with the statement above. I try to pretend and look him, he just tease me with his smile and I don’t know he understand or no but he just said that again and again with the slow voice. Then I advice him and said, if you say it again Allah will sad and took your mouth because Allah hate it. And again, he just gave me his cute smile.
    A child very easy to influence and imitating something word that said with the people around him.

    I have interviewed a client, her name is Bhema Hastuti, she has a daughter her name is Mikha Syahira Bhenov. She told me that Mikha is a fussy girl she always talks by herself but we can’t understand what she says, because sometimes she talks like singing and playing with her spittle.
    When she was born last year at March 1st 2015 she was a quite baby, she just crying when she was thirsty or pee. Until she tried to say a word, her first word is maa, and become mama, but actually her mother ask her to call bunda, but she enjoy to call her mama and her mother still ask her to call bunda. She likes to see small house lizard (cicak). When she sees a cicak she will clap her hands it’s mean that she wants her mother to sing “cicak-cicak di dinding” and join clapping hands with her and she will laughts and then her mother teach her to identify her body, for example “ mikha giginya manaaa?” she will points out to her teeth and others like mouth, nose and head.
    Mikha is a quite, sometimes talk active and fussy, or sometimes she becomes a shy baby, it depends on situation. Her mother told me when the stranger calls her name she will hide on her mother’s back. But when somebody who have known her and have interact with her before he will ask them to carry her directly she raises both of her hands and she says “moh” while point to the street and it’s mean that she wants to go somewhere by car.
    Mikha still can’t speak well , she just says a word or speak by gesture. But her mother understands her. When she cries her mother will give her a bottle of milk.

    CHILD LANGUAGE ACQUISITION
    I Have interviewed a mother that has a beautiful child, at April 7 th 2016 . The child is about five years old. The child’s mother name is Puspa Dewi. She is an enterpreneur. She Came from Bukittnggi, but she lives in Jl.Kerta Mukti, H.Nipan, Ciputat, Tangerang Selatan with her small family. Her child’s name is Khaira Aqila. She was born in Tangerang at january 11th 2011.
    A child acquires language since birth. They get language from their parents. It means that a child does not taught a language, but they get from their parents. They get language from communication among people around them. If their parents use Indonesia language for getting interaction with their children, of course that indonesia language will be the first language for them. There is hypothesis said that children have ability to acquire a language since being a baby with their own grammatical.
    In this case, the child ( Khaira Aqila ) called khaira, uses Indonesia language as her first language. Because of her family and people arround them. Actually, her parent come from Minang, and they use minang language when they speak between them, but when they speak with their children, they use indonesia language. It was happened because they live in Jakarta. Jakarta is one of cities that use Indonesia language as their communication. Her parent do not teach her the second language. Just use indonesia language. When she is with all of her friends , she also uses indonesia language. When she comes back to her village in Bukittinggi, sometimes her family in Bukittinggi use minang languag, she does not understand what their family speak about. But she can say a new minang word that she was got. In the age of 0-12 months, khaira shown the reaction of crying to show her feeling, and reacts when someone calls her name. When the age of 1 year old, she was able to say a little word. The first word that she said is “ Ma..mam “ . Not just for it, but also able to do the simple command. In the age of 2 – 3 years old, she was able to speak with the simple sentences. In 4-5 years old she was able to speak clearly with the more simple sentences. She was able to say her name, her feeling, and so on. In this age she can develop her language skill.
    It can be concluded that, a child language acquisition will be shown in some stage regularly. The language development is advance and expand in regular pattern. It was started from 0 until they can speak up. Of course that is based on what language they have acquired from their birth.

  43. I have done the interview to a mother that has child attain the age of four years old. I have asked to her, when did she talk to her child. She said to me that she always talked to baby when the baby unborn (uterus). She talked about everything for her baby, like what she has done in the kitchen, in the bathroom and every time until she was tired to talk a long day. When I asked, why did she do like that. She answered when I did communicate to my baby when he were unborn, I sure that he could feel and know what I said.
    How did you can teach him to talk?, she explained that I always talked with him when he is unborn until now. As we knew the language of the child is not perfect yet, so he would explain his language through body or act like if he wanted something, he could cry loudly , but I always teach him what he want to do. Sometimes I saw him talk or grumble to himself, I just let him do everything and repair what have he said.
    What was the first word that has you teach to your child? I taught him about call me and my husband as his parents with “Bunda and Ayah”, I always teach like that every time, and the result he could say it but still not perfect yet, he just can say “nda” and “yah”. When he is about 3 years old he can say that as perfect. What is the first language that has you teach to your child ? I taught him Indonesia because I think it is better than Minang, I think Minang language has many negative words that can broke developing his language. And other consideration why I taught him Indonesia language because the people that stayed in my around used Indonesia language. I taught it in order to he can communicate with around.
    What will you teach other language to your child? I think Minang is other choice because my family used Minang language in daily activity. Indonesia to our around and Minang to communicate with my family. If you mean other language like English, I think no, I don’t know English well, but if only some words, maybe I can teach him. Maybe I can ask him to join the English course one day.
    Note : The informant is senior in my rent house that has child about four years old.

    Here, I assess language pronunciation of children aged 3 years, I have younger cousins named Zahwa 3 years old, her way of speaking already started smoothly but there are many more pronunciation is a little difficult to understand. For example, she want cake (kue) and she calls it the (tue). So, sounds uttered almust the same as the actual meaning. Here probably an error on the child that she kwow to say the truth. Every adult to talk to her, she know and understand what is always pronounced by the adult.
    Can be said to be children at this age are very easy to catch what was said by many people, but it is very rare to be found, so that she could master the conversations of people who talked to her. As other examples she could also speak proper uttered such adult : she called buy shoes (sepatu) but she mentions is buy (“sapatu”). Adult understand what she mentions but what is actually wrong spoken, although the words just a little different but the meaning and significance of each.
    When I asked her was what ? she replied being “mein” but that the intent is to playing (Bermain), what is it not wrong, just simply pronounce that still not right. In children this age are very rerely been able to undestand what was being said by an adult, but here a 3 years old child can understand what is spoken by people in the vicinity, just simply prounce that they are less precise when she spoke.

    I and Aunt have been talked about children’s first words. My Aunt’ name is Leni, she has two children, her second child is a boy, her boy name is Ibnu. Ibnu was born last 18 months, so his old now is 18 months. He starts study to speak now, not many words that can spell by him. His mother talked me Ibnu has been spelled one by one says, just general words but it is not clear yet. They stayed at Cipta Kaya sreet in Pekanbaru. So his mother and father teach to speak him with indonesian.

    Ibnu has been begun on speak, it is started in easy words, for example : he starts to say aya, yah, ma, ma, ka, ayan, they are mean ayah, mama, kakak, ayang. However he not clear yet spell it, Ibnu still can not say it with well. Before Ibnu can spell easy the words, ibnu just can say someting that similar sound but we did not understand with it, just similar, there is no meaning of his words, just similar sound, for example: a’’, a’’, aya, but sometimes Ibnu imitate the voice by people around him. He says something through he is talking with his mother, his father, or his sister but there is no meaning of his. He just produce a sound like a person speaking but we did not understand it.

    This our lesson at past time, every child inclined imitate, in study speaking a child do imitate, every child really imitate the language that is used by their parents and their environment, so that we say it language as their mother tongue, the child will speak based on the first language that he listened. When a child born in Aceh and he imitate that language, he use Aceh’s language, it means Aceh is his first language.

    When a baby at the age of 10 months she began to imitate the voices heard from the environment, and he will also use facial expressions or hand gestures when they want to ask for something, children has comprehension of language from they still young child, they can use language from their environtment, they learn from their parents.

I have a brother who is very cute and funny, he is Yusuf salim isnaini, but calls his favorite Aim, now he was 5 years old, and he was studying at Tk Tunas Islam, Aim just love to play games, especially games zombies and games cars, he really likes the games, although he was very afraid of zombies. AIM very fond of cars, motorcycles plane and he was very afraid of dolls, cats, solar heat and so forth, that’s humor and cuteness my younger brother, and I loved him dearly.

    At the age of 3 years Aim has started I teach about colors in English, such as red, blue, black, green, yellow, white, and until now every time he would like to mention the colors she always called with the English language, such as the time he bought new shoes, and he chose the color green, when I asked, “what is the color of new shoes Aim?” and he replied with the spelling “giriin” not “green”. because he can’t talk “Green”, he always pointed to the color that is nearby, and if he does not know the color in nearby, he would always ask “what color is this ?”, Aim is a child who really want to know everything that is around, and always ask the circumstances surrounding, he really likes the color green and red.

    I interviewed a young child was 5 years old. He is my cousin who since childhood has always played with me. He is a smart kid and funny. Every time I was at home he always came home to invite me to play. People say that playing with children can relieve stress, but I really love the kids.
    At that time I was playing with him, and then I gave him a chocolate cake. Then he told me to open the cake for him immediately eat. When I accidentally give him half a piece of pie and half of them are still in the plastic. I asked him ” iko buat akak lai yo?”. Have not had time in the reply, when it came a cat walking toward us while meowing. He saw the cat that he ran away from where we were standing.
    When I asked “manga balari? “. He replied, “takuik.., takut …. takuik kucing. Then I laughed and said,” oo.. jadi kue ko punyo kak lai kan? haha”. Hear my words that he retorted,” indak .. !!! jan makan, kue aim tu ma. I laughed and said, ” kalau nio, sinilah.. kalau ndak kak makan”. He did say anything to hear my words, and then he ran to where I was standing with a cat and grab a cake in my hand. After that he ran away from my hardness. Then he said, “kue ko enak, aim suko”.
    From that incident I could take one lesson that children will imitate themselves how we talk, when I mix between Indonesian language and minang, He will also be brought into the language. And when we are talking not appropriate grammar, but for the children so he composed the words according to his ability. And one more thing I learned that children fear about anything, can not beat something they liked.

    • Did you talk about the same student as Azizah kh discussed? You both had interesting way of looking at Aim’s verbal development. So, what is the suitable theory that support your findings?

      • Yes sir, I talk about the same student as azizah. I see from the way he make the sentences. I think the suitable theory that support my findings is Children Construct Grammars.
